New player here

Hey!
Now I have never player Archage, however I heard so many good things about older versions, that I'm willing to try this out.
Like for many new players, one of the important decisions is the class choice and I have rough understanding how that works, but what scares me is all those "optimal classes" which from the looks are so much ahead of other choices its pretty much pointless to play something else. How bad is it? I don't really want to play meta class and be 1 of the another of 90% of the same class users, I would be willing to try something else, but the question is how big the difference is?

It's all about ur built, just find a guild or ask in game faction ppl love to talk about. In guides you can check this community PPT about all popular clases, wouldn't recommend other cuz u need some knowledge about massive pvp and mechanics before trying other clases

The good new is you can play all classes on one character and mess around with them all while you continue to progress
But because gearing is such a long process I would at least recommend choosing one 'archetype' that uses same stats as well as weapons so that you dont have to split your effort to two armor/weapon sets or you will be eternally poor

Id suggest deciding whether you wanna be melee dps, mage, tank, or support and then take a look at the slideshow Crockta mentioned (https://docs.google.com/presentatio...tjDiBuSp8eLk/edit#slide=id.g25a9d7d1653_0_223) and find a couple that seem most interesting for you to try.
